SeeMyOslo

Oslo, the capital of Norway, is one of the smallest but fastest growing capitals in the world, and SeeMyCity´s first international project city

Introduction

SeeMyOslo was SeeMyCity’s first international project. The goal was to put Oslo in the spotlight by engaging both citizens and visitors to take pictures of the city and enter them in 3 different competitions.  Working together with VisitOSLO, DogA and FotoPhono Imaging, as well as our Norwegian Instagram friends (mentioned by name in the exhibition section below), we successfully managed to show the many sides of the capital and put together an eye-catching and unique exhibition (see an overview pic here).  The 10 day long exhibition located at DogA, was produced, printed and mounted by FotoPhono Imaging. See more information and pictures in the exhibition section below.

Event and walk

The SeeMyOslo event and workshop was held at DogA, Mezzaninen, August 25th 2012

The event started with 4 short presentations held by Marianne Hope (@mariannehope),  Herbert Schröer (@herbertschoer) , Stig Jøssund (@s10g) and Solveig Lae (@solveiglae).

The workshop ended with a photographic adventure and treasure hunt through the city, accompanied by the SeeMyCity and SeeMyOslo photographers. The photos taken during and after this photo walk were entered into the second phase of the SeeMyOslo photo competition on Instagram (#seemyosloP2)

Mobile photo competitions

We arranged 3 Instagram based challenges and competitions both before, during, and after the SeeMyOslo event. The second contest was sponsored by Norwegian Air Shuttle and the main prize was a weekend trip to Oslo for 2 persons (flight and stay included). While this competition was for people living outside Norway, the other two contests were aimed at those living in or close to Oslo with main focus on putting the city in the picture
